Admissions Criteria

Dulwich College Bangkok seek students who will embrace the opportunities and meet the admissions criteria, contributing to our diverse and vibrant community. In addition to providing the application and supporting documents, all students wishing to join are subject to the admissions checklist set out below.

Year level placement is determined by an applicant’s age as of 1st September in the academic year of entry. Applicants come from many different countries with varying school calendars and enrollment age practices. Our 1st September cut-off date and year-level placement policy reflect what we believe is the most appropriate alignment for academic and social readiness.

An exception to this policy would require the approval of the Head of College and would only be made when all the evidence suggests it is in the child’s best interest to be enrolled in a year other than what their age suggests. 

Students applying for entry in the Early Years must submit current and prior school records (if any) and/or a Confidential Student Reference from their current teacher if the student has had previous education. Students entering Nursery and Reception must be toilet trained. All applicants who meet the entry requirements will be invited to meet with our academic staff in Early Years in a group setting. Families will be invited for an interview with the Head of College.

Students applying for entry into Years 3 to 6 must submit last two years’ school reports. A Confidential Student Reference from the class teacher or Principal may also be required. Students undertake entrance assessments to ensure they can access the curriculum. The assessment consists of verbal, quantitative, and non-verbal assessments. Applicants will also complete a writing assignment as well as an interview with key academic staff in Junior School.  

Students applying for entry into Years 7 to 13 must submit last two years’ school reports. A Confidential Student Reference from the class teacher or Principal may also be required. Students will undertake entrance assessments to ensure they can access the curriculum. The assessment consists of verbal, spatial, quantitative, and non-verbal sections. Candidates will also complete a writing assignment. All Senior School candidates will be interviewed by key and relevant academic staff as part of the admission process.
