Founding Families Come Together for Loy Krathong

Dulwich College Bangkok held its first-ever community event, marking a special beginning for our founding families. Together, we celebrated Loy Krathong Festival.

On November 1st, Dulwich College Bangkok hosted its first community event, and what a wonderful day it was! It was truly heartwarming to see some of our pioneering students and founding families come together in this intimate setting to celebrate, connect, and begin building our very own Dulwich College Bangkok community.

To mark this special occasion, we gathered for a cultural celebration of Loy Krathong, one of Thailand’s most beautiful and meaningful festivals.

What is Loy Krathong Festival? Celebrated nationwide, is a time when people come together to float small, candle-lit offerings (krathongs) on water to give thanks and let go of negativity from the past year. It’s a moment of reflection, gratitude, and hope.

At Dulwich, Planet is one of our core pillars, and we embraced this value in our celebration. Instead of traditional materials, our students and parents made krathongs out of bread. These eco-friendly creations are not only beautiful but also safe for fish and other aquatic life.

For some of our founding students, this was their very first Krathong, and it was a joy to see their excitement and creativity as they shaped and decorated.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families who joined us and made this day so special. We are thrilled to be on this journey together — building a warm Dulwich Bangkok community from the very beginning.
